Body ShopTools [ slip roll ]
Who owns a slip roll ???
What kind?
How big?
How much did you spend?
Anyone got a cheap Central machine one?

Compact size makes this unit perfect for small projects and detail work. High carbon steel rollers remain true under the most demanding applications.
Material capacity (gauge): aluminum 17,
brass 18, steel 20
Minimum radius: 1"
Maximum forming width: 12"
Wire forming grooves: 1/8", 1/4", 3/8"
----------
Wire forming groves would be for round stock ehy?
I could roll 3/8in rod???
I wonder how tight of a circle it could make?
Like to be able to take round stock from 1/8-3/8 and make small circles of a few inches up to around 18in.
Being able to do sheet metal would just be a bonus option Id rarley use.
I may need to build my own machine in the end Im just looking for options.
In my mind I see like a 3 roller pipe forming machine but bench size for small stock and hand operated.

Re: Body ShopTools [ slip roll ]
it has provisions for 3/8 wire...and the more pressure you put on it when you roll it the tighter the circle....

Re: Body ShopTools [ slip roll ]
Though I did start trying to build one. Though out of some wood for the main body so I didn't have to go digging around in the snow where the scrap piles was.
Two stationary wheels are just 2 big and 3 small washers in the middle bolted down. Movable one that also spins is just scrap pipe, one big washer on the end for a catch, 2 more pined to keep it aligned, Top screw for down wards pressure pushes on a half section of pipe to equal the load out maybe. Dunno if it will make it beyond wood prototype.
