LT bumper cover

Is the bumper cover from the Camaro LT the same as the '82-'84 SC?

http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/1002650550.html

Do LT's have any gfx? I thought all Camaro's did from '87+.

No. Non-GFX models (Sport Coupe, Berlinetta & LT) ran two styles of bumpers. One from 82-84, and one from 85-87. The older style is recognizable by it's narrow parking lights, and larger vents:

88 was the first year you could not buy a non-GFX car, although they are rare in '87, since Chevy was pushing plastic and stickers on everyone.

For what it's worth, I would leave that bumper on there. I really like the 85-87 base-model look.

Re: LT bumper cover

Thanks for the answer!
The bumper on the car in the link that I posted has the smaller vents, but it doesn't look like it has a license plate mount, which is what interested me. It looks like the '82-'84 nose, but it's an '87 and it doesn't have the license plate mount.
Anyone if that's original to that car, or where I could get a bumper cover like that?

Hate to argue with ya, but it looks like it's got a plate to me.

Try this link: http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/se...x?find=license

There were several different front plate brackets used depending on what bumper you had. I for one have been running without a plate for almost a year in Washington without any trouble. *crosses fingers*

I see that it has a plate, but it doesn't look like it has the flat rectangular spot in the middle of the bumper cover, under the plate, like the '82-'84 bumper covers.
I'm just wondering if such a thing exists...
The picture of a Camaro you posted has a different bumper cover than the red LT, now pictured above.^

Re: LT bumper cover

My bad. I see what you're saying now. The bumpers all have that center section. The black grill is merely a trim piece that fits over it. Some cars came without that grill, or with foglights in those holes.

BTW, were you the one that ended up buying that car? It was discussed quite a bit on the local forums.

No, I didn't buy it, never even called about it. The pictures do make it look nice though...
I think the grill looks a lot nicer like that.
So that is an '82-'84 bumper cover?
Sure looks like it.

Re: LT bumper cover

No, it looks like the stock '87 bumper. Notice the wide short holes, and the wide parking lights. Most likely just a bone-stock LT.

I'm kinda halfway considering putting the base model effects on my car. I'm a little bored of scraping the nose on everything, and it would make a cool sleeper.

That's what I plan on doing before I paint my car. I scrape the nose all the time, it's less aerodynamic, and all the gfx must weigh 100 pounds.

There is an LT owners thread here that may provide you with more info and pics of cars.
