bought an 85 firebird

I need to know if the dash pad and the inner outer sweeps for the doors are the same for 85 firebirds and 85 camaros? Also how do i get my speedometer to not jump can i just oil the cable? And are the weatherstrippings the same for doors and hatch on the camaro\firebird?
Thanks!!!!!

Re: bought an 85 firebird

if it has a cable then one of the teeth in the tailshaft is gone or some other problem that will take more than just oil to fix

as far as the parts you need, if you are savy enough to talk to us on thirdgen you should be good enough to do some searches on ebay and google

sometimes you can look at the classified boards and get lucky or post a parts wanted ad

Re: bought an 85 firebird

Take your cable off and look at it before you assume that your speedo gear is missing a tooth.
Usually they teeth don't break. On each end of the cable it is squared. That will round and make it slip on the gear or back of the speedo. Also the speedo gear or speedo can "strip" and allow the cable to slip. Look at that first.
I could be wrong but I am 90% positive the dash pad is a little diferent.
The door sweeps should be the same.
