I am jealous, it's still going to be at least two more months before it gets warm enough to paint around here. Looking good though!

Okay so I have made a little progress.I wanted an SS hood but ended up with a great deal on a Sunoco hood that is missing a corner. No biggie.I got the drivers side door seam sealed and cut in and I also got the jamb cut in.Time to flip her around and start on the other side!I am so excited!!!!!!

Wow! The project looks nice. Gotta feel good to start spraying some color
The Sunoco hood is my favorite, just wish it did not have such a heavy body line down the center... think you could sand that down and fill?
Post more pics as they come!

Re: Finally gettin somewhere!
yeah at least your getting some work done... mine has been sitting like this for a couple weeks now due to the cold, wind, and the occasional snow.
And i still have to re-primer the whole car.. cause that was just to make it one color as you can tell by the fenders used to be red... and the car was green... till some jerk poured bleach on it making the paint fade and peel worse than it already was. So i painted it black... with a rattle can... then sanded it and it was red/green/black .. so i settled on some 97cent spray primer from walmart.

Wow Steve!Your gona have a great car when she's done!
Thanks Badnblk!Thats a hell of a compliment coming from a guy with a bad azz car like yours! I like the body line in the hood though, it flows into the body line on the bumper and gives the hood dimension. It would definately be something different to see someone modify a Sunoco hood like that.
Yea BigDave love that color scheme, its a candy red.I am hoping to have the car done by end of may early June.I have A LOT of hope!Haha.

Re: Finally gettin somewhere!
Looking good so far man, gotta ask though.
Is that 4-door suburban next in line for paint? If so,wow!! you got ALOT of work on your hands.lol
I'll be keeping an eye out for the end result of this car.
My guess is that its gonna be really sweet just judging by the detail work already done.

Re: Finally gettin somewhere!
White truck behind it looks like a mid 90's 4 door GMC Jimmy. I should have done this to mine this winter but time did not allow me to do so. Now I have all summer to get all the parts in order and do a complete color change. Looks good so far.

Re: Finally gettin somewhere!
Even if i can't use the part for a while ya know. Like my motor parts... each one i open and examined and just stared at for a couple of hours just cause i was excited to be that much closer to my project being complete. =]
But yeah the jeep should be done tomorrow or Sunday so i'm getting pretty excited. although we just had a blizzard so i might have to wait for the snow to melt before i can actually push the Camaro into the garage.

Re: Finally gettin somewhere!
Haha!oogle!!!
I know exactly what ya mean!
Do you jump around a little and go "yes yes yes!"
I hate when ya wait for a part and wait and it ends up being the wrong thing.
I waited 3 months to get a aero front spoiler from some douchebag from ebay.
In the description it said "nice, no cracks, excellent condition"
Apparently this guy was blind. When I finally got it I was excited!
Only to open the box and see that it had actually been repaired and there were spider cracks and chips EVERYWHERE!I paid almost $200 for it and Im not gona use it.

That's looking good, Keep at it and take your time on the final blocking!
It's easy to get excited and paint it before you've blocked it a 100 times!

Nice work! Also a ton of work. The sanding alone is brutal. I did 99% of my car by hand and it was a great deal of work/time. Then block sanding priemer=even more!
