Who makes this targa top???
Never seen one of these before, considering my t-top center is in pretty rough shape this is a idea
I would think it would really weaken the car to cut it out though

Hmm wow. Ive never seen this pic before. Im guessing its a ASC targa prototype car. ASC did the convertible conversion for GM back in the 80s. Very interesting.

Yeah, im just sitting here thinking about it, it would be fairly easy to recreate.
find some busted ttops and weld em up then wrap it with lexan

That is the '87 ASC SunTour Trans Am. It was a styling and design test mule that never made it to production. The front windshield actually curved onto the top of the roof. There is no exposed metal piece between the windshield and targa top. There was an article on it in High Performance Pontiac magazine about 7 or 8 years ago.
A company in California called Targa Top Inc did conversions on 3rd-gens. I don't think they are in business anymore.
