T-Top Camaro = Parade car?

I was asked if I would bring my car to the local parade (wow... someone respects a ThirdGen!) and there would be two people sitting on the roof. I'd take the T-Tops off, but could the back part of the roof support two people?

the question should be whether it will support them , it should will they ding, dent and scratch your roof.

yes the top will support twp people, unless they are very heavy, yet i can imagine that your roof will have dents in it when they are done, plus it isn't a very safe thing, there isn't much room for them to sit and it is fairly curved, so i can see them sliding. if you like your car i would do it it.

There would have to be some really hot chicks to sit on the roof of my camaro. The sheet metal is really thin, so keep in mind no fat chicks, unless you want some nice a$$ prints dented into your roof.

The person on the driver side would be at your hear, I guess the legs would go over your shoulder. Then there is nothing to grab hold of if they start to slip? the personal liability? Damage liability? They would be better just standing on your *****.

Re: T-Top Camaro = Parade car?

Considering parades are what? 5mph MAX? The girls will be fine. You'll be driving more by brake than gas anyways.

I would just get them to sit their butts more towards the front edge of the roof, not in the weaker/thin area between the hatch & t-top edge, to help prevent butt dents from happening.

And shorts should have no metal buttons or such, on the backside!

Umm I can understand one person on the passenger side on the roof, but where do you think the other person is going to be??. Even two really skinny people would have a hard time sitting on one side. The person on the driver side would have to be straddling you (which could be a good or bad thing) unless your seat is pulled up in the steering wheel.

Re: T-Top Camaro = Parade car?

i say go for it as long as they are not heavyweights . i did it on my 89r/s , both girls were about 115-120 lbs. each max. . don't know the weight of the bikini's they wore but they were small . i had a doubled over carpet strip they sat on with strip of thin 3/16 plywood inside the carpet fold . i also had a hand strap for each of them around the center bar . used a couple of belts as i recall . who knows , you might get lucky . ( sorry i said that , i'm just a dirty old man who refuses to grow up ) good luck .

Re: T-Top Camaro = Parade car?

in order for this to work they would both have to be wearing very very small skirts. It wouldn't really help your car, but it would be a hell of a view

**you are using two girls right

I would say the damage to the car wouldn't be worth it. Maybe you could take off your hatch and put them in the back.

Re: T-Top Camaro = Parade car?

Lol, you guys crack me up! My understanding is that my car will be host the "Junior Prom" couple. So probably a football player and a really cute girl. I was planning on putting a blanket across the top so it wouldn't scratch the car. Plywood is a very good idea to wrap in the blankets. I'll make sure that the girl is on my side, I don't want big sweaty, hairy legs in my face the whole parade!!! And buttons... I'll make sure they don't have any, I just got a new job making great money and I think the car is getting a complete respray, new OE park lamps, center caps, and some body work done, but it'll be gorgeous for the parade. Lol, I'll make sure she's wearing something very short, too =) thanks a million.

Do you have a mirror on your sunvisor?

If not (or even if so) aim your rearview mirror BEFORE the parade correctly, so she doesn't see you aiming it at her.

Re: T-Top Camaro = Parade car?

absolutely not worth it man, she's obviously not YOUR girl so what is the point? get a peep show of something some other guy is going to be getting??

not worth the chance of scratches or dents at all..... it might be getting a new paint job, but that doesn't get rid of the dents, and once a roof pops in, it can always be popped back out, however it just stressed the sheetmetal and when going down the road later on in life it will either flop back and forth with air pressure or just suck back in over and over....

i really wouldn't worry about doing man, you got a nice looking car, take pride in that.... maybe suggest her riding 'IN' the car and him in another or something else...

one more thing and then i'll shut up....
My girlfriend had her other camaro (1986 Iroc) in the school parade her Junior Year, woke up to go to school the next morning and it was gone! Someone jacked it out the driveway over night took it across town and stripped the living ba-jesus out of it. all that was left was..... well nothing but the vin to identify it.... to this day nobody knows who did it!

sorry so long
