Hey, I saw an ad for a 1983 Firebird in my local craigslist. Sounds good, but he says it has a sunroof. I asked him if he meant a T-Top roof, or if it's stock, also if it was aftermarker. hasnt replied back yet and I'm curious, so I figured I'd ask here.

Did any of the 1983 Firebird come stock with a sunroof? I'm hoping not, because I dont want one. Actually, I'm hoping that he's mistaken the T-Tops for a sunroof, cause I dont think I could bring myself to buy it if it didnt have the T-Tops.

 

i'm not sure what years they came on... but yeah i have seen several sun roofs around colorado... so i would guess that some did come with that option... rather than t-tops

 

I could be wrong but I don't think any sunroof was an option. T-tops were the sunroof of the day. Which means someone chopped a big hole in the roof.

 

I think there was a company who put sunroofs in third gens, like out of the factory. I dont remember but like 8 months back when i was looking for a camaro i saw an ad on one and the guy explained why it had sunroof, it was some sort of rare thing but a few third gens had em. Not im not positive but im just saying what i remember.

 

i do believe there was an option for a "astro roof" rather than t-tops or convert or hard top, but i think it was special order only

 

yeah cause i've seen atleast 4 in colorado springs... and they look more like a stock sun roof rather than an aftermarket "cut" sunroof you know.

So i would assume it was a rare option...

 

My '82 Camaro has a really high quality sunroof in it. Doesn't leak at all.
