Fender is this good?
Fender is this good?
I seen a fender at car part wholesale (http://cpwstore.carpartswholesale.co...versal:0)&sv=0) it says that it's OE repalcement. Does that mean it's as good as factory or is this some cheap POS? Anybody who can check it out or has experience with this one please let me know I need new fenders. Thanks.

Aftermarket parts are good for cars that you just want to put back together...and to sell. Not saying that all aftermarket parts are junk..but alot of them don't fit worth a damn and the metal is way thinner than the OEM original part.

they are thinner and dont bolt on the same but with some time expanding holes and some shims you can get a half way decent fit. if its a show car...I wouldnt but for my daily driver/ weekend warrior they fit the price. both of my front fenders are after market, the door gaps are no where near perfect but they look ok. I dont think I would order them from online because there is more than likely a parts store local to you that can get them at about the same price and save you some time and money on shipping.

Like irockid86 said the fit and finish is usually not up to par. But aftermarket parts do have their place. And if you were to buy a couple dozen you could probably find one that fits pretty good, has the same lines as an OEM part and isn't full of waves or other finish flaws.
Re: Fender is this good?
Well i'll have to see if I can find some good used oem ones I can't afford new oem ones and don't wanna mess with crap aftermarket ones. It's not a show car but it's gonna be a hot rod daily driver when it's nice out. Thought goodmark made good stuff though? Anybody recommend good aftermarket ones?

Re: Fender is this good?
I have seen some good aftermarket products out there. A lot of the Chinese crap is thinner gauge metal and I have seen some rust within a year. What does help is to prep and paint the inside of the fender. Believe it or not I have seen people just slap it on and go. Even if its a used or aftermarket one proper prep is really important. I have gone with used parts on other cars and had good success with lining up etc.
