It depends on the rust : if it's surface rust it's nothing, just sand to bare metal and prime. If it's rot, then it depends on how much there is and where it is. If it's a rusted out door, replace it. If it's a hole in the quarter panel, weld new material in place of the rot. If it's the frame, she's dead...

holy hell...who would do something like that??? check your floors and sub frames before anything...i had a friend that had an iroc and the floors and sub frame were so bad that the axle started twisting...thats when its time to let her go

my friend has had it sitting there for the 2 years now. he finally decided to sell it so i bought it. the engine is good the the tranny is done

That's a lot of rust, even though it looks like surface rust, I would hang on and look for a nicer car to start with. 3rd Gens can be found cheap, and most even have paint.
