Patch Panels

I have an 89 RS and I have rust issues. The rear quarters are not too bad but on the passenger side there is some rust between the wheel and the door. Does anyone know who if any sells a patch panel for that spot??? I have looked and can only find the rear lower section. Any help would be appreciated.

pic of the area would help alot

if its what im thinking of you can cut it out and repalce it with regular sheet metal weld it in, grind it smooth, use a little bit of filler and sand it smooth

Re: Patch Panels

If it's not a "difficult to reproduce" spot just make your own. Need a piece of tin? go dig thru the scrap pile at any bodyshop. Want flat tin, grab a hood. Need something with some curved section or a rolled edge get a fender. It's pretty easy really.

Re: Patch Panels

My brother in law owns a heating and air buisiness and they do a lot of fabrication. It seems like a fairly easy piece except where the fender curves around. I will try and get a pic soon.

If your brother-in-law does sheetmetal work for HVAC, he'll have a set of slip rolls, or power rolls. They will produce the curve you need, or at least close enough that you can hand hammer the rest. Make a template out of thin cardboard first, or poster board. Then trace it on a sheet of metal and form it up.

Re: Patch Panels

Yeah thats exactly what I am going to do. If I make a template I am sure they can duplicate it at least close. Then I can weld it on.
