Need some quick newbie help regarding headlights

Just snuck out of the house for a midnight drive in my new 88 camaro, only to realize that I only got one headlight working. Only the far left (driverside) one comes on in low, and all 4 come on in high. Before I go to the parts store, I need to know; only the outside 2 come on in low right? Or should all 4 come on in low?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure only 2 come on in low, and 2 in high, which would suggest a wiring issue rather than a bad bulb.

Really? Hmm, I never even considered that.

I'll try it out on my brothers car tomorrow, however, its the 4 high thing that is telling me its a electrical issue, because NO gm car I have ever seen has all 4 headlights on at one time unless you've got it rigged to do so...a "4-high" conversion its sometimes advertised as.

Re: Need some quick newbie help regarding headlights

outsides are low. i think they are 2 prong
insides are high. I think they are 3 prong

the lows also get brighter when you turn the brights on. but they are the main lights. the inside lights only turn on for your high beams.
So when you have your brights on all 4 lights are on and all are bright

Go with Sylvania brand. they are nice and bright with a wide range of view. and the brights go out ahead pretty far.

Man my lights when out a couple days ago too

only my driverside Lowbeam Worked, but both lowbeams worked in BrightMode

i thought it was a wiring issue, but i brought two new lowbeam headlights for $18 and Just like that all my lights started working again

if i were you, i would try that
and i know it sounds weird, but i'm not lying at all. it still has my mind boggled

Re: Need some quick newbie help regarding headlights

The outside pair are high/low and the inside pair are high only. There are two filaments in the high/low lights (3 prong connector) and they should operate according to which is selected. That's why only one light came on for Zerocyde when low beam was selected, and all 4 came on (as they should) with high selected - one of his low filaments was out.
