Im in the process of sanding my 86 iroc-z down to metal to paint it. Ive been trying to come up with a color to paint that'll match my interior, but haven't quite made up my mind. What do y'all think?

 

For the outside to match that inside, only 3 colors would come to mind that would match it- black, red and white.

or change the interior to black, since it goes with everything.

It looks like the exterior is white. If I was going to choose one of the colors mentioned above, I would go with stock white.

 

A buddy of mine used to have a silver 87' base coupe with red interior. It matched well. I've also seen a silver IROC with red IROC badges. It looked good, but I don't know what color interior it had.

 

My '86 is red on red, and it goes really well (sans both the interior and exterior being pretty worn out).

 

I would paint it Medium Garnet Red. This is a nice red that reflects jewel like highlights in direct sunlight.

 

yeah, sap, that's exactly what i've got. I was thinkin about goin red on red, and i thought it'd be too much red, but your's looks nice.

I say go with the stock white. Not many white with red interiors out there, and it will definitely make the interior stick out more (more than the old white lets it stick out now).

Gunmetal grey would not be a bad choice either, in my opinion.

A red interior pretty much limits your choices to red, or somewhere in the spectrum between black and white. Other colors would just look tacky.

 

It's funny 'cause just yesterday I was talkin to my dad about goin with gunmetal grey. I was cleanin up my wheels and saw the grey. I think it'd look really cool. That's what I'm leanin towards at the moment.

 

I say go for it, as long as you don't mind having to paint the door jambs and such

 

White to gunmetal gray is exactly what I did with mine, and it was a great, GREAT decision. I highly recommend you go for it.

Silver or metallic gray always looks fantastic with a red interior. It works for many exotics, so of course it works for thirdgens too.

Love the gray with the red stripe and badging. I vote for the gray.
