Re: 4th gen spoiler

Yes you can, with some modification. If I remember correctly the LT-1 style is easier but you can do it with the LS1 style also. Someone who had done it will probably chime in.

Re: 4th gen spoiler

I say get the wing. There is a difference between the LT1 and the LS1 wing but its not a huge factor. $50 is a good price if its in good condition. I got mine for $35 but had to drive 2hrs to pick it up. I have and LS1 wing and made it fit just fine. But then again, I have a black car...

Re: 4th gen spoiler

I picked one up for $17.50 +tax at a local junkyard. Havent put it on yet tho. took off the old spoiler and set it on there to see what needs to be done but havent had time yet to modify it. I think I may do something a little different............

I wanna see close up pics of your LS1 wing you "made it fit just fine". If you really did, you know what I'm talking about. The bottoms of the wings and posts on the decklid.

Sorry if I sound skeptical about your fit, but I am.

Ya'll have gotten me to wondering about the differance now. If it wasnt pouring down rain here right now I'd be out side with a flashlight compairing the two!

It fits just like yours in the link, the only exception is that my car is black and any small shadows just blend in, the only problem I'm having hell is trying to attach the "spikes" to the glass...

Ah.....Now I understand what you mean. The black paint hides the shadows. Gotcha!

I took all the factory clips off the glass holding the arms (spikes) & they are just sitting there.

The only thing holding my wing on, are the 2 outer screws (hardly big enough to qualify as bolts), under the arms, to the deck. The 2 post screws are only holding the extensions to the wing. Nothing holding the posts to the deck, but the weight & pressure of the 2 outer screws!

FYRCHKN actually did most of the install for me. I was too chicken to try & measure the locations of the 2 outer bolts & drill the holes for them! He was the guinea pig for our area & did his first.

Re: 4th gen spoiler

yeah, thats my situation now, its just held down by 2 outer bolts. I've been thinking of ways to keep the post down with little success. I actually cut a little hole on the ends of the posts and had them ziptied to the clips on the glass but everytime I went over a big bump, they would pop... I haven't tried the metal exhaust type "zip" ties...

Nothing other than drilling the new holes in the deck, to mount it.

With a LS1 wing, you hafta do the same & when you mount it, you find out how bad t fits, as seen in my pics above.

Actually, there is a little grinding on the bottom that needs to be done to kind of flatten it out so it will sit better on the deck lid.

My two center posts are attached to the deck lid. Once I finished the extensions and bondo-ed them in smooth I drilled two extra holes in the deck lid and ran 3 1/2" deck screws up through the center posts. The arms that go down the sides of the glass aren't attached to anything. I really didn't see a need to since the whole thing is so rigid.
