window sweeps problem
I just replaced the window sweeps on the driver side of 89 camaro. After everything was put back together and the window was rolled back up I noticed that it does not seal evenly and there are gaps that will let water go down into the door. Sweeps were purchaced from Classic Industries, the pack said the restorers choice part #2064. Does anyone have a fix for this.

Have you put the interior trim panel back on yet? That may press the glass out a little more. Is the window adjusted properly? I don't know if there is a fix for your problem, but perhaps it's not as big a problem as you think. Doors have drains in the bottom to let any water out that gets in.

Re: window sweeps problem
I too bought the Classic Industries window sweeps and am seeing the same problem.
For the life of me I cannot get them to seal against the window.

Re: window sweeps problem
We have new original GM sweeps available on our site. The quality of them is FAR superior to the aftermarket pieces available. Unfortunately, aftermarket pieces rarely fit as well as originals.

if the window's been adjusted and you're still having issues, check the bolt spacing on the door. i have seen some cases where they are not uniform to mount the outer seal (think friday at 4:59pm at the assembly plant - gotta hurry it up so i can go home!). when this happens, the bolts can pull the sweep a little bit and bunch it up. if that is the case, just enlarge the holes a little and it should fit more flat

Re: window sweeps problem
Seeing how I have revived a three year old thread. I'm going to start a new one to see if anyone else has had the same problem with the Classic Industries seals.
For 1ADan: The seal is not bunched. I acctually had to drill 2 holes in the seal to align two of the mounting bolts. It is laying flat and looks good untill you shut the door and then you see the gap. Its like I have to choose the leak to be at the cab and window or a the window sweep and window. If I push the window out far enough to close the window sweep gap it no longer seals tight at the top of the car.
