How rare is my 1983 CFI z28?
I have a 1983 cross fire injection z28 camaro. It has 51,000 original miles
on it. My interior is rare because I've only seen a small number of them. Its called Lear Siegler Camaro Conteur interior. The car has Power everything, cruise control and a tilt steering column. There is carpet all over the plastic inside. In the back hatch compartment there is a trunk lid that locks. I have had 2 other 3rd gen camaros and they were nothing like this car, this car has a lot of options.
So if you know any info on this car or how many camaros were made like this please let me know.

You should post this in the history/resto board. Also, in that board, there is a sticky about the LSC interiors.

Does your Z28 have the rear wiper?

Re: How rare is my 1983 CFI z28?
Thank you!
well I just got the car a few months ago and the car had been in a garage for over 20 years. Its never good for a car to just sit, so I had some things done and replaced so I don't really know yet. It did pretty good the first time I drove it home. I get it back this weekend from the shop and it will be at its best performance...
so I will let you know how the test drive goes.

You do have a nice car.
Hopefully no one will convince you to convert it to another type of fuel injection or carb. I am sure your car will give you years of fun driving.

Those seats and door panels would look odd in a firebird!
VERY COOL, and VERY 80's ! ! !

no its not the original paint. it was wrecked and repaired before I bought it. Also what color is the hood supposed to be painted on the inside? it is a fiberglass hood that it primered now.

My hood has the insolation in it still so i really don't know what color it should be.
The paint on my car is original but It took a lot of work to turn it around.
The 1st picture is the car when I first got it, and the 2nd picture is what it looks like now.

I love before and after pics like that. In fact, I love doing what you did there. That is - bringing back a faded neglected car.

Hey I just bought a car with the same interior. I thought I was buying a 85, but when the guy gave me the title it was a 83. No problem. I can say my car is is nowhere near in that nice of shape. I have lots of body work to do. I cant wait, I have been lusting after another third gen since I sold my last 85 IROC.

If you really want to know if its a 83 or 85 all you have to do is look at the dash pad.
In 1983 the dash pad was a little skinnier than in 1985 and was squared off in the front. In 1985 the dash pad was thicker and was rounded off in the front.
The first picture is the 1985 dash pad and the second is the 1983 dash pad.
Re: How rare is my 1983 CFI z28?
My 84 HO Z28 had this interior except that the door panels did not have the same treatment. Only the seats. Was that typical for 84? Sadly I ran that car into the ground by the mid 90's and it went to the crusher. One day I'll have another and treat it like I should have.

Nice car!
If those were extra center caps in the passenger seat, I'd be interested in any non faded ones with all the mounts and not cracked.

I have seen that on some interiors but most of the time if the seats were LS interior the door panels were the same as the seats. I'm not to sure if that was typical or not in 1984.
