After 2 years if saving up money, and looking for a painter I trusted to do the job it's finally happening. Got some less then thrilling news though I thought my car was still rolling around with original paint well boy was I wrong. It has been repainted twice, and has been in minor accident, and had some slight hail damage not very good news, but all is going well now, and I cant wait for the finished product

Its lookin good so far. This is inspiration for me as my car is about one or two stages behind yours right now, I just finished all the bodywork now I need to put the doors and fenders back on and get it primered. Now you have a blank canvas, there are so many ideas you can see when your car is all clean in primer ready for its new personality.

 

thanks im still deciding on a few details cant decide if I wanna paint the iroc stripes on the side, and whether or not to put back on door side molding so may choices lol

 

Yea the door molding was the first thing I decided to leave off my Firebird. It just makes the car look more "muscle" with the nice clean body line showing down the side of the car.

 

that is hot. im jealous.
why didn't you take out the plastic and seats and carpet and paint eveything? not being critical, just wondering. i getting opinions from people who look like they know what they are doing.

 

I did take out all the plastics, they are painting all the door jams, and inside the back, I didn' bother taking out seat or carpet though cause my floor pans are pretty clean, and wasnt to worried about it

looks good bro. i just got my 88 firebird painted a couple months ago.. it makes a huge difference!!

it was a place by my house called woodies not really suppose to discuss cost though cause they cut me a huge deal as a favor for my brother in law

 

thats cool. I'm looking for a quality job for a good price. May be hard to find but i would think it may be a little cheaper these days due to the economy. I dont care if a guy does it in his garage, just as long as it is fairly nice.

the car looks great by the way, it really didnt look bad before, but you cant see much detail from the before pictures

 

yea you just have to be patient I looked for a long time before I found the right person I knew would do a great job, and most people that do it out of their garage are better than half the people that do it in shops imho.
