Are the hood struts making it bow up like that on you?

Re: Hood fitting out of the box?

I just had a collision tech stop by and we found that its hitting the radiator shroud not allowing it to close completely, thus could be fix by cutting out a small section under the hood,It seems to contour and not be warped, just not setting all the way down. and I also was wondering if the hood struts have some thing to do with this, however it is definatly hitting the radiator shroud.

Re: Hood fitting out of the box?

If the hood struts are still attached.I'd undo them and see how it fits.Start from square 1.

If you can get eh middle to relax the front will push forward.

Re: Hood fitting out of the box?

As to Harwood hoods, have installed two of them on third gens.
Still had to do a little trimming to install.
Know yours is a Bird and mine an Iroc but in both cases I installed
there was a notice not to use the stock struts as could be a problem
like that. Recommended to use the struts from a earlier fiberglass hood
for our cars. Never researched it as I made up some nice looking straps
I use at shows to keep hood up.
Can't even tell there there.
Did have to trim back of hood before painting to clear wipers.
Nothing is ever completely hassle free when it comes to custom parts.
( At least in my case).

What I like is after after slight prep and painting can't even tell the hood
is fiberglass, NO waves like so many others have unless (Heavy) into prep
work.

HTH
