Re: hood latch ?s

Hood pins would have to be mounted too far back on the hood's surface to look right IMO. As for a new latch, are you referring to the catch mechanism mounted in the nose, or the actual latch mounted to the underside of the hood? Junkyard or Ebay would be your best bet to find one, I don't think GM still has them new. Maybe try Hawk's or Thirdgenranch, sponsor links on the pages here.

I don't know if I'd go with a used latch. If you want new, try a dealership. If the cost is too high, try a body supply house. Hood pins give an aggressive look, but they don't fit in really well with most later thirdgens. I ran them on my beater crap-wagon 84 because the safety catch was iffy, and I liked the look.

Re: hood latch ?s

already put the hood pins on it happy with the look was worried bout that and what was wrong it wore out and it would come unlatched driving down the road. the way i have everything set up is the hood still latches and the hood pins hold it down so it cant come unlatched do yall think i should leave it like that or take the latch off

Keep the cable latch... Otherwise hoodlums could steal your battery, mess with your engine, etc...
