The Firebird bumper cover is much smaller then the Camaro one. In fact you can put a Firebird bumper inside a Camaro's.

Yeah, the gap for the headlights give it away more than anything. XD

I have an 84 front bumper on an 87 Trans Am. Just a slight bit of difference in the size of the bottom filler, but hardly noticeable with the wheel between that and the rest of the car. I had to put it on because of an accident, but I actually like the look of it better, and it was free so why not?

Re: trans am bumper on camaro

Is he talking about a front or rear bumper? Rear seams more likely to fit.

The rear bumper is also much smaller on the Firebird. Obviously you could put the Firebird front bumper on the Camaro but you would need the whole front end assembly from a Firebird for it to work. The fenders are completely different from the middle of the wheelwell foward as are all the brackets and dodads that hold the bumper up.

That's not even mentioning the hood and headlights being a different animal of course.

Re: trans am bumper on camaro

Rear bumper would probably bolt up, but what are ya gonna do with the extra license plate spot? Camaros have the plate between the tail lights, firebirds in the bumper.

Re: trans am bumper on camaro

I race with a guy that has a camaro nose on a firebird.....looks kinda goofy, not sure why he did it. Think it's a '85 nose and 85 bird.

Re: trans am bumper on camaro

ever play "Grand Theft Auto IV" Everyday i drive the Trans Am/Camaro car all the time its so tight. It handles awesome!!!, one of the fastest in the game. Heres a video. NOT mine personally, because id probably do some whorific stuff with my car on the game. My point is, i stare at the back of the car on the game all the time, It utilizes the Trans AM bumper with the Camaro rear end. The same for the front, both versions in-one. Anyways get a hold of that game, check it out, its corny, but the stunts, and jumps one could achieve in a simulation type game like that, its pretty narly.

Heres a third source comment as well as real game specs on the car, "Ruiner
The Ruiner is another one of the older-looking, but still good vehicles in the game. The t-tops and headlights would suggest that the Ruiner most closely resembles an 80's Camaro, but no one would argue that there's an aura of 280Z in the mix. It's a nice and speedy RWD vehicle with a 186 mph top speed and 6.3-second 0-60."

heres a good vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuTjXWf37Hw --<---not my vid haha

I've sees some "Transmaro" hybrids before. it's not hideous, just odd. it can be done.
