OK, I transplanted a 305 TPI from an 85 Iroc-Z into my 84 Z28. The stock Z28 hood closes fine when the the air box that holds the air filters is off the engine. I had to modify the plastic that the air box mounts to so it would drop in the hollow spot just behind the nose and remove the stock plastic that covers the hole. I used to have the hood off the 85 Iroc on the car and the hood closed fine. Anyone ever been down this road? Iroc hood is gone now (hood release froze up and I had to get hood open the hard way). I was thinking of trying to find an cold air kit to get rid of that air box altogether but I don't think K&N makes one anymore. Anyone help me solve this problem?
