Is a 6" cowl hood too much?

I was wondering if anyone has a picture of their camaro with a 6" cowl hood on it. And if it is just to much hood and doesn't look very good. so just let me know and give me your input. thanks

I don't like cowl hoods in general. They look too "*******" for my tastes. Its one thing if you've got a tall deck / big block under the hood but if you don't, there is no reason to do it. I prefer the fourth generation Camaro SS style hoods or the Jongbloed hood on the third generation Camaros more than anything else.

g0d yes that would be too much. I had a 4" cowl on my 86 camaro and it was a pain in the *** to see over it

Its to big for the street and trying to make a right hand turn would cause an accident. Why would you need one that big any way ? you making an all show no go car ?

well I was going to say, that it would be illegal on the streets as it would impair your view...but that was already said... and most likely you would end up being harassed by the boys in blue, getting pulled over like clock work... ...

its not too much if its needed to clear some kind of induction setup.

If its not needed for that purpose, than its absurdly too much, and since the cars seems to have a 305 tbi, its just plain wrong.

3" is the highest hood that is street legal in most states.

I was running a weiand dual carb intake and a 6" cowl wouldn't fit. I have seen 6" and it is huge and near impossible to see around.

i agree, a 6" hood, over a stock engine is just wrong on so many levels. unless you have a serious high rise intake, youll never need 6" of extra clearance.

its not that i need the extra space... i just want something that will look nice. and i am building a new 350 for it with a taller manifold so i might need some sort of a taller hood. i am mostly just coserned about the looks. and the reason i for a 6" rise is because there is one for sale near to where i live. and i dont want to order one online and deal with the 100 doller shipping.

I run a taller intake plus a 1 inch carb spacer and a 3 in cowl fits fine on my car.
