What Weight Carbon Fiber for Body Panels?
Hi Everyone
I was thinking of using carbon fiber and an epoxy resin to make some new panels for my 83' but I can't find any good information as to what cloth weight should be used and I was wondering if anyone here knew? I'd much appreciate it.
Thank you
P.s. I'm going to post this in the Fabrication forum too as I think it fits both areas unless you guys think otherwise.

Just the ones bolted on. I'm looking at the hood (previous one was FG and got blown off and ran over by a Semi), front quarter panels, possibly the front molding and the rear quarter panels. The top and rear end will just get a glue job. I've done a lot of work with FG & epoxy with boats so I'm pretty confident in my skills but a boat crusing on water takes a good bit less punishment then all the spitup of a car on the road so I want to be sure of the carbon fiber weight before I buy it.
P.s. Yeah, I'll be leaving the roof alone, I know better

your options for the bolton panels are hood, front fenders, rear hatch, and doors only. our rear quarters are structural and must remain steel for the factory chassis. now as far as the cloth weight you want it only thick enough to not flop around in the wind, otherwise you start adding the weight back onto the car.

Yeah, CF is pretty strong stuff but I don't know what weight the cloth should be. This isn't really for a weight reduction on the overall vehicle as a less expensive replacement for the panels and as a really unique look.
