Can I replace an IROC decal?

I have a 87 IROC with the original paint in very good condition. My only real problem is that the very top portion of the "O" and the "C" of the IROC decal on my passenger door has peeled off. It's not noticable from a distance but definately is close up. I purchased new IROC decals from Phoenix Graphics and was wondering if I could strip the old decal off and put the new one on, or if I would likely makes things worse given the age of my paint and should just wait to I eventually get the car repainted. Thanks to everyone in advance for your help.

When I did mine I took the wifes hair drier and got them nice and hot, then used the razor blade to carefully get the decal started. From there I could for the most part just peel them off. Just work your way down slowly keeping the emblem hot.

Thanks for the advice. I think that's what I'll try and do.

Will do. I worry though I don't have the best skill level for something like that which could be kind of delicate to do with a razor blade. I just envision me somehow slipping with the razor and gashing my paint. I may get a freind who's a lot more skilled than me to help me undertake that project.

Go to paint supply store and ask for a plastic razor blade. No joke, they make them for such purposes. Precleaner should get the glue off and soften the decal during scraping without hurting the paint, as long as it's not fresh.
