Plugging Holes In Trunk
Plugging Holes In Trunk
Recently started a rust removal/repaint project on the trunk. I removed the spoiler, but now I have the 4 holes in the trunk. What can I use to plug them up before the rain starts? Will duct tape be good enough in preventing water from coming in?
Also, when i do get around to sanding/priming/painting, i'll need to plug the holes up when washing the car, what can i use?
Thanks!

have the holes welded up.
or pickup some nice polished stainless button head bolts and washers, put the bolts through, nuts on the underside and use some sealant to seal them to the deck.

the problem is i still need the holes for when i put the spoiler back on after i paint it. so i can't weld them. i might do the nut/bolt thing though didn't think of that hopefully homedepot will have them...just so i can get through washing sanding and painting it.

Duct tape will hold up fine. Just make sure to have the suface clean, dry and press it down well on the edges, I've had it hold up to 130mph if that matters to you.. If left on to long and leaves goo, clean with an adhesive remover and it comes right off.
