Hey this is my first firebird all I know it is a 95 v6 firebird can you tell me more about it?

Is it a good car
how fast is it ( is it faster then a lot of cars made now?)

Re: What is this?

no its not a formula.. a formula would have a 350 v8 and from ur year it would be an lt1 not a v6.. and i would have to say it might be quick but not fast.. as long as it was taken care of (maintained properly) it would be a great daily driver.. good on gas and quick for a v6 but thats about it.. nice car tho.. might have just been the pic but looks like the nose is a different color then the car.. possible accident?? o and this is a 4th gen not a thirdgen.. u might get this locked..

Re: What is this?

Seems like a troll thread to me.

And it looks ridiculous that somebody put that spoiler on that car and didnt paint it. Also those look like 96 rims.

Re: What is this?

Just because the speedo says 200 does not mean it will do it. Most cars are limited from the factory to no more than 115mph or so by use of a limiter.

Double posting & wrong forum. Not off to a good start.
Buying a car you know nothing about, not the smartest either.
Do you even know its history (wreck/clean title/hidden damage/etc)?

yea sorry about that when I made the thread I hit submit twice so that's why there are two threads and the car has not been in any wrecks. But the guy said it was a 96 but on the ownership it said 95.

Re: What is this?

so u didnt check before u bought it? wow.. at that im guessing u didnt look underneath, under the hood, do u even know if theres a spare tire in there?? what would have happend if u got a flat on the way home? lol

before i buy a car i always look it over with a fine tooth comb so to say.. ive even jacked a car up on the dealer lot and looked underneath for leaks or rust.. always checked the oil and trans fuild..tires including the spare if there was one.. the whole 9 yard.. u never know what people will say just to get some green in there pockets..

if u dont have a carfax on that for all u know that car could have been rolled and fixed at a body shop off the books and sold to u..

Re: What is this?

Depending on whether it's a 95 or a 96 it'll have a 3.4 or a 3.8

Not necessarily -- although the 3.4 was still standard in 1995, the 3.8 could be had as an option. I'm probably willing to bet that it was a very RARE option, but it was available nonetheless. Of course by 1996 the 3.4 was gone, and the 3.8 became standard.

Also, someone said those look like 96 wheels...that style wheel debuted on the 1994 25th Anniversary Trans Am (where they were only available in white), and then became the ONLY available wheel (in silver) on ALL base model Firebirds from 1995-97.

Re: What is this?

Had to check, you're right they had that wheel on the v8s then, but every 95 v6 I've ever seen had this style wheel http://www.dragtimes.com/parts/PONTI...238061884.html

The "standard catalog of" book I have doesnt mention the 3.8 being an option in 95, but I have noticed a few errors in it so you could be right.

Checking the tenth character in the vin will tell you the real year. S for a 95, T for a 96.

TGO dedicated to 82-92 thirdgens. Another site, such as the one I listed on your other thread, might provide the info you're seeking or will seek in the future. Good luck with your project.
