Craigslist.

There are too many rust free bodies out there, especially in the South, to waste too much time and $ on a body with rot. AND it's much more fun moving all of the cool stuff from one body to the other, then you wind up with all those EXTRA parts.

I'm with this gentleman and his extra clean 87 sport coupe.

I looked at a handfull of clean, almost perfect (rust wise) 3rd gens when I lived in NC this summer, just never pulled the trigger because I knew I was moving and didn't have the time.

Is it easy to move a wolfe mini tub kit and coilover spring adjuster setup to a new body?

How much is in the rest of the car? That's just one spot. Looks bad but I'm also from the carolinas. They don't seem to rust as bad here. Tub kit won't help keep it from twisting.

Just saw that bracing. That'll help.

The front of the rocker area on both sides is rusty a bit. The rear of the passenger wheel well where it meets the firewall is rusty as well.

I have subframe connectors on the car and will put in a 10 point cage, but figured that I needed a sturday floorpan to weld the cage to first!

Re: Rust repair... any advice?

I welded my bars to plates welded on top on rear LCA brackets, torque box area. The floor in that area doesn't sit on top of the brackets so I cut it out. The front floor does sit on the torque box.

I'm not an engineer but you probably want as much support as possible so I'd check out the rest of the car twice. Maybe speak with someone at a chassis/fab shop. Guess it's kind of, it's your car, whatever makes you feel safe. Is it race or street?

I supported my car with jacks front back and center, cut out all the rust and built new parts and welded it back togeather. SFC going in now. Be shure to look behind the front fender right forward of the door. some important structuer that is probly rusted too. Rust free cars are hard to find around here
