question about best body filler, and outdoor spraying
question about best body filler, and outdoor spraying
what is that easy sanding body filler that you see the pros on TV use? i have used bondo and the fiberglass kind and both are so hard to sand that I can't make a smooth transition...
If I have a spot that the wind is blocked on all sides, is their any way i can spray outside and get a good paint job?? Or is that just a bad idea??

I use Evercoat Rage and I sand the first coat of filler with 40 grit and sand the second coat with 80 grit then apply a thin coat of putty and finish that with 180 grit and you should be ok spraying primer outside but I wouldnt pait outside
Re: question about best body filler, and outdoor spraying
i have been working at a shop for a while and we use rage xtreme and i dont like it i like the rage or the rage gold is really nice if you are not doing heavy filling i would suggest trying evercoat easysand it fills a little more than their other metal glaze but is not for heavy filling just for small dents or dings or as a finish coat. I would not attempt to paint outside, prime sure but not paint.

Painted my Firebrid outside and just recentaly my Buick wagon.
pick a nice calm day and paint the car in stages, hood n doors one day, back end n roof the next, just make sure and mask off the good area well and 100%.
Over spray sucks and will finds its way under any lose flaps of paper.
Though black hides allot; yet reveals bad body work.
