4th gen outer door sweep complete seal?

I just replaced the outer door sweeps on my drivers door. It took some time but looks great and seals pretty good. Now since i only did it on one door testing the fitment, etc does anyone know how to completely seal the window sweep so no water comes in? With the 4th gen door sweeps they cut around the morrow so on a certain part of the sweep its reduced. Everything else covers and even though you cant even see the part that was reduced, behind the mirror is pretty big gap that will let water poor in. What can i use to completely seal it and seal the rest of the sweep since maybe one area is not snug against the window?

The 4th gen sweeps were obviously designed for the 4th gen, not the 3rd gen. Since mods had to be done to get it on the car, you'll have to find some mod to make it work right. Or, you could get the sweeps for a 3rd gen and call it a day! I wonder if the 4th gen trunk will fit a 3rd gen.

my point here, new thirdgen sweeps are cheap and easy to find, no mods needed, all you have to do is take out the what 5 or 6 screws to take the old on out then replace the old with a new and put the screws back in, easy as pie as some say. for $61 i got 2 brand spankin new sweeps that looks flawless
