81U: PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, BRIGHT RED (91)

thats the code for my iroc. It was repainted to a less bright red, im guessing becuase it was a cheaper paint job and they had to chose from a stock of colors. Anyway, im getting it completely redone, and going back to the original color. Here is a pic of day 2 out of 14 days (estimate). Would like to see other cars good pics of the same color so i can see an idea.

thanks.

Mine was painted 89 bright red. Check out the thread "Finally painting my IROC" right here in the Body forum. Mine came out nice.

just a thought, body shops are usually a little off on thier time estimates. so unless its not a busy shop i would expect longer than 14 days, unless you took it all apart and then took it, which would probobly be the best way to do it

ha ha yeah there first estimate was 10 days. I'm ok with that though, i want it done right, and i have a truck i can use while i wait. It was a great learning experience, i finally saw why to never use maaco and the like, and the difference between a 2-400 paint job (maaco) and 2k-4 or 10k which is what my estimates were ranging. i chose the lower end.
