Carbon Fiber Cowl....
My cowl (just below the windshield) is full of pin holes from rot, I have stripped it with a spaghetti wheel (all bare metal now, rust gone, windshield is out). I was going to fiberglass the entire cowl and then repaint it black, but then I started think carbon fiber....
The plan now is to epoxy primer the metal and then to lay a layer of carbon fiber (using UV resistant epoxy resin of course) instead of the fiberglass, leaving the carbon fiber exposed (no paint).
The epoxy primer is to form a barrier between the metal and the carbon fiber to prevent galvanic corrosion...
What do you think and has anyone tried this?
