Front clip replacement. What am I in for?

Whats goin on u guys? Im about to get ready to start the body work on my car and i wanna try to do it myself. The whole front clip of my car has to be replaced...fenders, bumper, hood and everything. How hard is it? Is it something a novice could do?

fenders, bumper, hood isnt bad at all

But when you say everything are you talking about everything from the firewall forward? K member, frame rails, strut mounts, radiator support, etc? Those are no easy task.

It's all just nuts and bolts. Some easier than others to get to (like everything else in the world), but in the end it's all just nuts and bolts.

Got to be easier than building the pyramids, and they had no garage or tools! Determination is free, yet it's the hardset 'tool' to obtain.

Na jus the body panels...everything else is gonna stay. Ive been readin around an everyone talks about how much of a pain replacing the fenders an such were so i was just curious if i should still try it myself or if id just be better of taking it to a shop. Thanks u guys as longs as its just "nuts and bolts" as described i should be able to handle it. Another wuick question though...my hood flipped up while driving on the interstate so the lifts that the hood are on are junked too...how hard is that to replace? Is it just bolt on also? Is there any other damage that i should check for?

Be sure to buy allot of zip-lock bags.Your going to be putting the bolts/nuts and any small parts from each piece in a bag and labeling the bag. Like one will say left front fender. Or bumper cover. Like that. If you don't you will be In big trouble when putting it all back together.By the way I had a hood fly open once on the free way ,could have killed some one.Just for piece of mind I installed pins on the Camaro.

I have mine off right now. I'm in the middle of sanding, and sanding, and sanding and glazing, and sanding in preparation for primer then paint.

The toughest nut to get is the top one on the clip as it's tucked inside the fender and you can't get to it from the headlight.

But, once it's loose it will finger off. Remove the front clip and then take your headlight housing off of the clip.

It was pretty good wasn't it? Every so often my brain actually spits out something worthwhile (but don't tell anyone, you'll ruin my rep!).
