Try getting the area really wet and try scrapping it off with your fingernail or maybe a dull knife so that it wont scratch it but it will be able to get the stuff off.

I believe some brake fluid would take care of this without hurting the plastic. Just make sure you don't get any on the painted areas of the lights or the body. Just a bit on a rag with some soaking first and gentle rubbing might take of it.

Re: getting glue off tail lights?

i had some scuffs and overspray on my tailights from the previous owner.... i was scared to touch them too. i ended up wetsanding a smidge with 2000. they look dull after, so i used some goof off (dont remember which brand, but it was in a clear bottle, and it was orange. it had a polishing agent in it as well) and went over it real quick, and hit it with some regular car polish. they are showroom now.

after that i ended up doing this on my windows, and mirrors the same way and they came out amazing.

i also just got some center wheel caps that were scratched up as well. did the same thing, but i didnt have access to the same goof off. (i know i have seen it around, but havent looked for it outside of autozon/checkers) but yeah, i just wetsanded and used polish and they look great.

i had a good size scuff on one of the break lights that i didnt think i could fix. but i took it nice and slow, and was able to get that also.
