Door won't shut completely, leaking water when rains
I have a 91 fbird with t-tops and after it rained today I noticed that the floor behind my drivers seat was wet. Not a lot but enough to notice. I also noticed water on the inside of the window as I got into it. When I shut my door I notice that there is a slight gap between the weatherstripping and the window. Could this be caused by bad door hinges or latches? Pic Enclosed. Thanks for any help.

If the door isn't shutting all the way it could need rehung, or it might be doing what mine does, the corner of the exterior weatherstripping always gets caught, preventing the door from closing, I get around this by pulling it back when shutting the door from the outside, or when shutting it from the inside I roll down the window a little.

Disregard the door when windows don't meet T-tops - not necessarily a door alignment issue but rather a window alighment issue. Door closing doesn't have anything to do with window alignment (since we have no top door rail above our windows).
Might need to remove the door panel and adjust the window tracks/stops/guides so that the rolled up window is angled slightly more towards the car. Also, there are felt-covered guides in the top of the door (can see them in the top of the door slit) - adjusting those usually helps push the window inwards more. But these guides are also on very flimsy sheet metal, and the window moving upwards can actually bend that flimsy metal (it does on my driver door) - so sometimes even adjusting doesn't get the result you desire. I need to add some kind of bracing to mine to stiffen it, but I haven't got around to it, my car is always covered anyway so it's not at the top of my list right now.
Bottom line is - it's a T-top car, and they tend to leak - it's something we T-top owners tend to live with usually. $40 spent on a car cover and taking the extra 2 minutes to use it works better than anything else. Another option is a roll of painters tape and a hand towel - dry the T-top edge and put a strip of painter's tape between the top and window for the falling rain to run down over rather than into the car.

The window is meeting the tops at the top but there is a gap between the weatherstripping and the window when the door is shut all the way. I took a pic during the day to show that the door is not quite lining up. I'm guessing it's a hinge problem. 20 years will do that I suppose. Notice in the pic that the door sticks out a bit at the top.

Also have to realize the doors are REALLY heavy, and REALLY long, imo they could have made the hinges beefier or thrown another one in for good measure, sagging doors is a really common problem.

Tell me about it. I've had a bunch of these cars and they have all had door sagging problems. I guess when the funds present themselves I'll get new hinges and latches. Hopefully that'll help.

Have to have them rehung to fix the problem, with new hinge pins and what not.
