fender well linings?
as some have seen, my car is pretty low now.

and when i take a hard turn, my front tires rub the black linings on the inside of the fenders...
can i just take these out and be good? or should i roll the metal part to?

Re: fender well linings?
Mine rubs too slightly when turning, but i'm not even close to being as low as you are.
Maybe just find out which part is rubbing and cut that part off? Mine appears as if it is not contoured to the fender that well (it's wavey) so I actually contemplated buying a new one that would fit better but IMO not worth the money for something so small.

Try heating them up, like with a heat gun, an push up the sections that are getting rubbed. There is some wiring & such behind them (especially on the passenger side), so removing them probably wouldn't be the best idea.
If it is just rubbing the plastic on hard turns, I wouldn't worry about that much.

also without them, you will fill the front of the fenders with gravel and dirt, making them rot faster than normal. Heat and move them if you can, or try to adjust them, but dont remove them entirely.

Got the same issue. I removed them until I figure out something with them. Some plastic shrinks when you heat it. Anyone know about this particular plastic? I was thinking of placing the part I wanted to reshape over a metal container and using a vacuum pump to reduce the pressure behind it so when it was heated it would pull into the container. Then cool it. Overkill?

Re: fender well linings?
I have no liner in my driver side front fender well.
Nearly impossible to find, so while looking I take care to remove any debris that gathers in my fender and in front of my driver side door.
Still, the rust showed up and I now have to fix a hole on the drivers side, about 1" round.

Or, just spray a coat or two of bedliner on the exposed metal. When applied properly, it's almost indestructible.

Re: fender well linings?
What is the procedure for that by the way? I saw some of that stuff but I'm skeptical.. I usually use POR15 but this stuff looks promising now..

Mine rubs at the top too when I hit a low spot in the road running 60mph or so. My car sits about like yours....I can barely squeeze my finger in-between my tire and top of the fender. After a year its fixed itself some. Its made a small groove in the plastic, but Id rather let it rub then it kick dirt and rocks all up in the fender and the door hinges.

My front clip is currently off, so it was easy for me to go outside & get these pics just now.
These pics show why they need to stay. ECM wiring & the hinges & even the engine compartment can get rocks, dirt, mud & water.

Re: fender well linings?
After verifying this over the weekend i noticed something. The battery on camaros (passenger side) where it sits in the front is RIGHT in front of the front fender lining. Take out the lining, and you expose the battery itself plus the terminals and wiring. Not the best idea even if you don't drive in the rain. Dust, debris, rocks.. All of that could damage the battery and be very dangerous.

Re: fender well linings?
I had a problem with mine on hard turns. I have 255-35-18 up front. I found a steel to steel stop that hit each other when wheel is at full turn. It had a notch in it from hitting together. The wheels were going past factory stop point. I just took the arc welder filled the notch in bringing it back to factory. NO more rubbing.
