Re: fog light wireing
I have a 92RS, It did not come with wireing for fog lights. If you buy a aftermarket fog light kit you will get the wiring and lights. I put Hella 550 lights on my car.
Do you meen Wheel trim rings? You could try Classic Industries.

Re: fog light wireing
The answer is "kinda".
The wiring should exist in the dash for the switch (the pigtail), and there is a fuse in place as well, so the switch wiring gets power. But all that wiring disappears before the firewall. So - here's what I did....
1) got a factory switch (ebay, whatever), and plugged into the factory connector.
2) Installed fuse in slot
3) Traced out pigtail wires so I'd know what was ground, what was 12v+ IN to the switch (to power the little green light), and what was 12v+ OUT of the switch (to power the fogs).
4) spliced into the 12v+ OUT wire and extended wiring through firewall to nose
5) grabbed a SPDT relay, and wired it like:
Terminal 85 = 12v+ OUT from switch (my extebded wire)
Terminal 86 = grounded underhood
Terminal 87 = 10 guage wire from relay to the fogs (split for each fog)
Terminal 87a = not used
Terminal 30 = 10 guage wire from power distribution block (beside radiator) - this is direct battery power
So, when you turn on the foglight switch, 12v+ is sent to term 85 on relay, which is grounded by term 86, thus activating relay, which rdirects the power from term 30 (battery power) to term 87 (the fogs).
Took 30 minutes, $10 in part ($8 relay and some connectors).

Re: fog light wireing
Hey! I have a 92 Firebird V6 that has the switch wiring, and I think I just found the fuse connector. So, I'm assuming that I'm going to have to run my own wires as well.
However, I want to run two lights to each side, so 4 in total. Does this make it more complicated?
Thanks!

Re: fog light wireing
Depending on the amperage draw of the lights, shouldn't. Might need to use a higher amperage relay (40 or 60 amp) than standard 30 amp relay. Just splice into the wire from the relay (87) and run a seperate wire to each side (driver and pass), then splice into those wires for the 2nd bulb on each side.

Re: fog light wireing
Thanks for the information! It's going to be awhile before I attempt this project. The only thing I'm worried about now is that I hear they're wired not to be used with high-beams and what not and how the parking lights have to be on in order to use the factory fogs... I understand why they're wired this way, but on my bird, the lights pop up when only the parking lights are applied.
I guess what I'm saying is that I'd like to use the fog lights independent of any other lights. I don't mind the parking lights being on (for tails, obviously), but I really dont' want my headlights to pop up when they're not on!!
Now I'm debating if my headlights are supposed to go up when only the parking lights are turned on... but I guess that's for another thread

Re: fog light wireing
I'm pretty sure mine work with the hi beams or low beams, or with just park lights on - since it wasn't a factory install, I don't think I have the restriction. Might be a case where you'll have to "wait and see what happens" and go from there.

i just added a z28 grill and 50 watt foglights.i plan on using a relay to make them come on with the ignition for daytime running lights.
