Throw in a pair of Moog replacement springs (5665) and/or a pair of fourthgen isolators. Both would put you up to nose bleed height.

Re: Im wondering if anyone out here has raised their rearend

Confirmed. Raises the car approx. 1" compared to stock ride height (stock in the 1980's not the current ride height) for the springs alone.

Not sure what the 4th gen spring isolators will do. I want to get back to stock ride height rather then further raise the rear so I have not tried them.

Re: Im wondering if anyone out here has raised their rearend

I was speaking for fourthgen spring isolator/insulators, which will jack the butt up.

I'm afraid I used the wrong term indeed.
Bumpstops are not isolators.

Will correct that in my previous post

Why do you want to jack it up? Stock ride height already looks too high.

Re: Im wondering if anyone out here has raised their rearend

Airshocks a bad idea in these cars - the shock mounts in the rear are **** poor thickness to begin with - start using them to hold the car weight, and you'll end up with your shocks in the rear glass where they broke through.

Coil spring spacers that sit on the bottom of the coil spring - easy, cheap, come in a variety of heights from 1/2 in to 3+ inches.

If air adjustability is desired, look into Air Lift drag bags ($90) that fit inside the coil springs and restrict the amount of coil compression - you can add air to reduce compression, and release air to increase compression.

Re: Im wondering if anyone out here has raised their rearend

Fourthgen rubber spring isolators will raise the rear about 1". When I changed out my springs to Eibach's it dropped the car 1" all the way around. I added the isolators to bring the rear back up to stock ride height, but with the stiffer spring. The car has a nice rake now.

2"? not a chance. the notch is not that much lighter than the factory glass. your talking ~400lbs of weight to raise the back 2"...

OP, Like said before, Moog iroc springs, alone will raise the rear some, and the 4th gen isolators apparently raise about 1/2" or more.

Happen to have a pic of the car right now?

Moving the battery to the trunk should about even out the weight difference between notchback and glass hatch.

Don't forget to put on some side pipes and wheels that stick out 2 inches from the rear fender.

I see your notchback is held down with hood pins. How do you prevent people from just removing the pins and entering the car?

Re: Im wondering if anyone out here has raised their rearend

Wow, how did this become a pick on Gumby thread?

Anyway, don't raise the rear of your car. It's a bad idea on many levels. It kills handling, screws up brakes and makes a complete blind spot.

(it's almost as bad as putting on wheel spacers)

cause the stock lock is still there and working.

They are there to help hold it down cause stock shocks are so strong they make the corners twist up when shut. They are also out side the weather strip.

You could look into getting shocks custom made. Just contact the manufacturer and tell them the weight of the notchback lid and they'll make you a pair for about the same price as stock ones at the auto parts store. We've had custom ones made before.

Re: Im wondering if anyone out here has raised their rearend

I have Ballons in the springs still from when I used to run larger wheels. Simple lift the rear to where to want and blow the balloon. Dont use them anymore, just havent gotten around to removal, one has a hole too.

I'm not really sure if I want to waste my time by asking but what dose "this" comment have to do with helping to raise the rear of a car . Some of these cars look nice with a slight rake.

I think you have something wrong with your shocks/springs. I've never seen a rear get effected by taking the rear glass completely off as to go up 2 inches. Let alone replacing it with a notchback. Ive helped install 2 notches and it didn't effect ride height at all.

except shocks and springs don't grow when bad and lift a car, they sag / it gets lower.
