look what i found
while looking for my factory wheel lock wrench today i pulled the spare tire and found the bottom of the spare tire area more or less completely GONE. i got under the car and looked and the bottom of the 1/4 on that side is rotted to just under where the gfx bolts to. i would have never found this if i hadnt pulled the spare out or got under the rear to check it out. someone had a trashbag duct taped over the hole. guess ill just go get some sheet metal and cut out what i can and patch it up. may have to cut off the very bottom of the 1/4 though :/.

mostly pretty good im gona do some more digging tomorrow. i cant tear it down too much it just became my new dd for a few weeks. my wife got in an accident and totaled her 2011 civic thursday and she has been driving my yukon since. i was surprosed though cause the car is in excelent shape otherwise just high miles 253k. my 86 trans am is all solid other than where i had to patch a little in the driver pan.

Re: look what i found
how do most people fix this area just use some sheet metal to remake the bottom? mines eat up into the bottom of the 1/4 too but the gfx hides it.

Re: look what i found
easiest way would be to find a jy car with that peice not rotted out, and cut it out. and then trim and weld it in place of the metal you gotta cut out.

just remember to always cut out a piece bigger than what you need from the donor car...

yeah cutting the metal out of another car is the best way. You can make your own but thier is no way for it to be perfect. But if its fine for you I cannot hate on you for doing that. Its metal, you can take away and put back no biggie.
