Hello, I was thinking about modifying a shaker hood to fit my 1992 Firebird when I drop whatever engine I finally decide to go with in. I am just curious as to what I should be expecting for work and what I would need to do for it to fit like the factory hood does.

they made a trans am Bandit ii with a shaker hood but the shaker was a part of the hood

 

yeah im not looking for that one, im looking for a way to turn a light weight carbon fiber hood that fits my car into an original style shaker hood

Search. It's been done before over in the fabrication board.

 

The one on the fabrication board wasn´t functional however.

And personally I think the 2nd gen shaker cowl is a bit too rounded and small to really work well for the thirdgen design.

 

i just plan on buying a carbon fiber hood then making it into a FUNCTIONAL! shaker hood...should look completely badass and not require too much fabrication,
