Found problem with Hatch motor, how do I fix it?

I took apart my hatch motor and assembly to try and figure out why it wouldnt pull down my hatch when I close it, I couldnt find anything, so I put it back together in the down position so it would just stay down until I could fix it properly. When I hooked it all back up and grounded it, the motor pushed it back up, so I thought I accidentally fixed it. Then I closed the Hatch and the motor didnt do anything, so I am pretty sure there is a switch somewhere in there that I need to fix so that it knows when my hatch is closed, has anybody done this before or knows how I can fix it? Thanks.

There's a small lever in the top that gets pushed when the hatch is closed - activates a relay in the rear under the plastic.

There's also a small circular button with a leg on it, that turns as the hatch is opening/closing - it has a spring that often breaks or flies off.

Maybe that helps.

Lon from Top Down Solutions is top notch in this area. He's usually kicking around the boards here if you can't find the answers in your searches
