Re: crosse fire hood's ?
The fiberglass one is probably lighter. They'll probably last about the same amount of time and the steel one probably has better lines.

the fiberglass one is indeed lighter. and if you do change to the steel hood, youll need to change your hood shocks as well. the fiberglass hoods use a weaker shock than the steel hoods.

Re: crosse fire hood's ?
Fiberglass is lighter, steel probably has cleaner lines, longevity depends on treatment, if maintained either will last forever, if not, well the steel hood can rust out, the glass one cannot, but it can however be damaged/broken easier.

Re: crosse fire hood's ?
All Crossfire Camaros had the fiberglass hoods with functional hood flaps. They never had steel hoods, which were about 20 lbs heavier.
Re: crosse fire hood's ?
Also keep in mind the CFI glass hoods had some "issues" in the early years. There is a TSB about the hoods coming apart at speed, smashing the windshield, etc. Something to think about when considering longevity.

Re: crosse fire hood's ?
2 words: hood pins, even if it delaminated it wouldn't go anywhere, and really, fiberglass is not at all hard to repair, and requires no special tools, unlike steel.
