Got Pictures of Ground Effects Behind Front Wheel?

I need to figure out how this piece is attached to the car. Previous owner tried pop-rivots which needs to be fixed. I have removed the Z28 emblem and just don't see how this piece is supposed to attach to the car. Any pictures or knowledge would be helpful.

2 screws behind the emblem, self tapping ones that go straight into the fender, often rusted out and loose.

Thanks. There weren't any holes behind the Z28 emblem when I removed it but I'll certainly screw two through there and cover with new emblem.

Thanks!

no there is a bracket that connects to the GFX, that has studs that go into the fender and is bolted on from the other side of the fender.

Don't screw into your GFX into the fender!

Just remove a couple of those plastic clips that hold that inner plastic splash shield inside the wheel well. Then look in, and you'll see them.

If the bracket is missing, just go get one at a wrecking yard and fix it right

What bracket? There wasn't any brackets on my irocs. Maybe we're not talking about the same location?

Re: Got Pictures of Ground Effects Behind Front Wheel?

I'm talking about this one right behind the wheel. There aren't any holes where the emblem was (as you can see) but there also isn't any bracket on the back side of the piece with studs going through the fender. That might be the problem; the bracket referred to above is missing. Although I'm interested in fixing it right, it seems that a couple of self tappers would do the trick just fine and be completely hidden by the emblem. As long as I can get the screws to sit flat?

You should have holes in the ground effects like in the pic below.

They must have changed it for the 91/92 style, mine have a bracket on the backside of the GFX. It has threaded studs that go through holes in fender, then secured from the inside of the fender.

Re: Got Pictures of Ground Effects Behind Front Wheel?

I just looked on eBay for 91/92 ground effects and I see a lot of pics of them with the emblem still intact. The 91/92 set must install differently than the previous years. Disregard my picture above then as it must not pertain to your situation.

Re: Got Pictures of Ground Effects Behind Front Wheel?

91/92 is different with a bracket indeed and studs w/ nuts. My brother confirmed that. Much better design! The prev design is the suck.

Thanks guys. The only thing that sucks is that self tappers would have been much easier...
