winshield wiper won't go down
Not sure where to post this, so I thought exterior/body = pretty close.
Passenger side wiper will not go all the down behind cowl/hood when I turn them off. It sits up about an inch. How can I fix this??

Re: winshield wiper won't go down
I would love to know the answer to this, mine does the same thing. I can push it down by hand, but it won't go down all the way on it's own.

Re: winshield wiper won't go down
an easy fix , re-index wiper arm on splined shaft . turn key on , operate wipers , turn key off with wipers mid-way , remove arm , re-install moved "SLIGHTLY" to the off direction , ck. travel by operating wipers to off . you may need to re-adjust a time or 2 . they should rest on stops with very light pressure . "NOT A SLAM ON THE STOPS" re-adjust to just lite pressure . (clean & lube all parts of wiper arm while you have it off) good luck .

Re: winshield wiper won't go down
dumb question maybe but without looking at it does the arm just have like a simple nut holding it on? thanks for the help- i knew it had to be such a common thing that somebody had an answer
Re: winshield wiper won't go down
Going by memory, but doesn't the arm only fit onto the spindle one way. Isn't like an L shaped thing that the arm attached too. It doesn't allow you to move it one tooth, I thought.
lawdog, yes those are my LED tails that I made awhile back. Here is the thread I had on them.

Re: winshield wiper won't go down
The arm is L shaped but it allows a few splines of adjustment whitin that range.
The arm has a metal plate under the black arm. If you look on one side of the arm (the side towards the engine) you'll see a small upturned flat spot about 1/4 inch wide. Pick up on the wiper until it is off the windshield until you have brought it to full extension. don't bend anything - this doesn't take much pressure. Using a screw driver pry out on the 1/4 inch tab. This tab when out will lock the wiper in the "up" position. It only comes out about 3/8 inch IIRC but it slips out easily so bring it out as far as it will go. At this point you can slip the arm off the splines, move it one or two splines over and push it back on. Lift up a little on the wiper arm and push the tab back in. You are done - 5 minutes tops if you have to find a screwdriver.

Re: winshield wiper won't go down
My right side wiper sticks up a bit too, must be pretty common.
My left wiper arm rubs my hood, but I'm thinking I need a new rear hood bumper (already ordered) to adjust it upwards some.
