Restoring My 85 Iroc

I just picked up a an 85 Iroc for $900 and have started to restore it. The car is rust free except for the battery tray and the spare tire well. Does anyone know if there is a patch panel for the spare tire well or what is the best way to fix it. Thanks.

Check out the POR-15 kit (paint, mesh, putty). Recommended.

Cut it out, clean it up, and weld in a new piece.

Those blue ones are nice! Good luck with the resto. You just have to stay motivated! I did an 89 and just finished it last fall. You can check out my thread if you want in the body section.

Thanks I'll check it out. It won't be blue for long. I've always wanted an orange Iroc.

Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator and Rust Bullet are good as well. When the weather breaks I'm gonna get a couple of these.

I got the dash out and the rest of the body stripped and the windshield out. Time to start sanding.

Re: Restoring My 85 Iroc

I haven't had a lot of time to work on the camaro lately. My whole family is sick. Gotta love that. I did get the pass door sanded to bare metal and primed. I'm going to shave the door handels and locks. I just gotta pick up some sheet metal.

Re: Restoring My 85 Iroc

The camaro is completely stripped and on the rotisserie. It's slow going. I've started welding in patch panels on the floors. It's my first attempt at sheetmetal welding. I definatly need to get rid of the flux core wire and get my welder switched over to MIG.
