I cant believe somene has nos Trans Am and GTA taillights. They are being sold for $1500 in Ebay. I wish I could spend that kind of money its just not worth it to me.

Re: New 91 92 taillights
Theyre worth what someone will pay for them, end of story. I personally dont see how $4000 is worth it but $1500 for a show car or the like is more than reasonable imo. What really pisses me off are the *******s that think their delaminated sets are worth hundreds because they are rare. People on both ends need to be reasonable with pricing and sadly thats just not gonna happen. Those selling will want top dollar and those buying want to pay bare minimum.

If I had a perfect very low mileage car I might spend 1500 but mine is not perfect (I wish it was though).

Re: New 91 92 taillights
there have been a few NOS pairs go for 1-1.5k. 4 grand is absurd, that guys is crazy.
I bought a perfect set a while back, only issue was the "pontiac" was gone. Gave them a quick buff and they look new. 300 bux....

Re: New 91 92 taillights
Yeah ive tried to think of ways to fix it and injecting some sort of adhesive is the only way that seems remotely possible. That or just dying the grid pattern darker through the outside of the lens so it looks like the delam is better/gone. Its been donte by a few people on this and i believe started on another forum.

well you have to get to the grid 1st... then compress it back to lens.. im thinking some kind of thin then clear adhesive..... people r just scared to take them apart and try new things

Re: New 91 92 taillights
The extra grid housings i have now i plan on using as a test set for tail lights and delam fix so i dont mind modding mine. Im just trying to figure out the cleanest way possible to do it. A really small drill bit to drill through the inside oart of the lens and inject some clear epoxy would probably work. It wouldnt leave anything on the outside of the lense, it would fix the delam and hold the pieces together better. Pressing the two pieces together seems to be the tricky part imo.

Re: New 91 92 taillights
You dont seem to understand what the delam is. The front comes apart from the back of the housing but the two layers that start to come apart arent ddesigned to come apart. You cant seperate those 2 layers or easily fix them.

Re: New 91 92 taillights
if someone had the time, they could put vinyl squares in the spaces of the grid, remove the grid and have a competent painter paint a new grid on the lens itself inside. no more delamination. tedious as hell, but worth the effort.

Re: New 91 92 taillights
Thats been done, i mentioned that earlier. A guy on here and the LS1 forum sells kits for that. Spray on tint is actually used, not paint and it works really well. The delam is of course still there but not very noticeable.

i was talking about Painting the inside of the lens, not darkening it or dying it from the outside. Either case, its alot of work, theres still enough nice sets out there to not have to go to this extreme.....Yet.

Re: New 91 92 taillights
Doing any painting or dying from the inside would still leave the delamination visible on the outside (or maybe i just dont understand what youre describing).
