Door lock cylinder help

Are the door lock cylinders and the trunk lock cylinder the same? Or is there a way to order a new door lock key via the VIN number? I can get a set of 2 door lock cylinders with keys for $20 off of summit. Car is a 1989 Pontiac Trans am, with a virgin steel 305, and factory tpi system. also has a/c.

They are not the same, the hatch lock is its own thing. Did you lose the key? It probably will only cost like twenty to thirty bucks to have one made, but if I was you, I'd just have them open it and then replace is with a brand new lock and do the locks all the way around for almost the same price. That way, you're one step closer to a brand new car

A gm dealer can get the key codes via the vin on 89 up models. on my 89 iroc the same key opens the doors and hatch.

Re: Door lock cylinder help

Dealer can make it by the VIN ..$75.00 to search $10 for the key and no guarantee it will work. Oh you also have to provide a photo ID and registration of vehicle.
