I have an 89 camaro rs. its red right now but the paint is fading really bad on top of car on the doors but only about half inch below the window. And the stock rear spoiler as well. It is faded down the primer in most spots. Anyway I'm thinking about keeping the body red and going about an inch down from the side windows and up in black the hood would stay red for now as well and I was wondering if anybody thinks that would look good? Any suggestions would be helpful thanks.

 

Use some SEM Hotrod black or another 2k paint and sand it with 600-800 grit after washing it and before you spray and it'll look awesome. I was thinking of doing something similar, kinda give it some of that oldschool muscle car look with the vinyl top, you know?

 

Yeah idk though can you receive pics I'll show you a pic from the side of my car and you can see where its fading. On the hood on my rs where it comes up a bit in the middle is going to be black as well I think I'm getting a black cowl hood scoop cuz I'm gunna run an open element air filter and I'm going to cut a hole under the cowl scoop to have a ram air like effect I think it would look alright. And everything from the windshield back from an inch below the windows up will al be black while the bottom stays red. You think that'd look good? Or you got a dif suggestion?

No I wasn't going to rattle can it. Unless it can be done I'm strapped for cash a little but do you think it'd look good?

 

In that case might I suggest you do a 2012 ZL1 stripe and cut a set of slots in the stock hood over the open air element, you can always put a cowl on over it of you don't like it. I think it would look good that way, with the paint like you're saying. Butif you can I'd say reclear the rear deck and door tops and just do the top in black.
