Aero Spoiler

I have been searching for awhile of pictures of 91 camaro's with the 1 piece aero spoiler. The ones I find show the car from the front. I wanted this type instead of the 3 piece spoiler on the back of my 89 RS. I got a excellent deal on one this week but I didn't get to see it on the car or the car it was removed from. When I fit it to my car it has to bolt at 2 places to the deck lid and on the outer it would bolt into the quarter panels. This would make the deck lid unable to open. Can anyone tell me if this correct? It really looks good with my 4" bolt on Harwood hood, but something doesn't seem right. The car pictures I do find it looks just like the one I have and it sits on top of the quarters.

Re: Aero Spoiler

Your talking about the '91 - '92 Z28 Spoiler right ? Because it just bolts onto the two towers In the middle not onto the quarters, otherwise how would you lift open the hatch if its on the quarters ?

Re: Aero Spoiler

Doesn't sound like you have the correct spoiler. I have an aero spoiler on the parts car I will be picking up this weekend, and it doesn't bolt on the side.
I do have an 88 Camaro aero spoiler, that bolts on the ends as well as the center, but it stays completely on the deck lid.
Post up a pic of it, if you can, and hopefully one of us here can help you identify it.

Re: Aero Spoiler

Sounds like the wrong spoiler, maybe you got a Firebird one?

Re: Aero Spoiler

Looks just like the pic that Phenom-1 posted. I am at work and will try to post a picture tonight. Looking at the picture I have mine just sitting on the car at the rear edge of the deck lid, the one in the picture is farther forward maybe that will make a difference. I will also measure it and see if is the one to fit my car. Does anyone have the correct with for this spoiler?

I will have one sitting here on Saturday, Sunday at the very latest. Can measure then and tell you exactly where it's supposed to be sitting.

Re: Aero Spoiler

Thanks guys, normally I post and no one helps. I got in and looking at it and looks just like what I was wanting a spoiler for a 91-92 Camaro. But it is to wide, have no idea what it fits. Can I post pictures to here from my cell phone? Maybe I can send it to my email and then post on here.

If you want the correct spoiler, I've got it- or I should say, I'll have it Saturday when I pick up the car.

Re: Aero Spoiler

Love that Hawks 5" spoiler and want to use it on a 82 car I am building that came with a iron duke 4 cyl. Lots of help from everyone, last night I pulled the old 3 piece spoiler off and moved the spoiler to the very rear of the deck lid. Now it makes sense. I see now that the bolts on the outside bolt to the deck lid and the outer edge of the spoiler fits over the quarter panels. I will email pics to MAC_87 when I get it installed, it is the 91-92 Z28 spoiler. Thanks for all the replies to everyone.

Re: Aero Spoiler

I'm not much of a fan of the 88 spoiler. I think the common low spolier looks the best.
