interior lettering wear

I was thinking how to renew the lettering and arrows on switches(locks, windows)once it wears off.the switch is good so why doesnt someone make a simple stamp that you dip in thin paint and re-stamp these pieces.just a thought.if anyone can do this post it here.

You will have to buy new switches. Once you have done that, I have recommendations for keeping them looking new. For the window switches; press them only on the extreme upper and lower edges to operate them. This will keep the fingers off the printed area. For the door lock switches; put an extra layer of crystal clear strapping tape or equiv. on them. Replace it before it wears to the lower layer. Those switches will eventually fail anyway due to the fact they are a membrane switch and very thin. You are lucky, both sets of switches are much less expensive for pre 90 cars than 90+ switches. I suppose you could buff off the remainder of the paint or ink from the window switches and custom paint them yourseld with a very thin brush, such as used for pin striping. Good luck, Lon.
