92 Firebird Fender
Is the 92 Firebird fender longer than previous years? We got one fender from a 90 Firebird and the other from a 91 and my cousin said they were both too short. When I went to Hawks though it shows the same fender for 82-92. It was the same with other websites. Does anyone know if the fenders are actually different for the 92?

Only difference should be the mounting holes for the factory ground effects kit (assuming that it has it -- RPO code is W68). 1991-92 cars with this option will be different from earlier cars with the option as far as the mounting holes. However, the dimensions of the fender itself should be exactly the same.
Now, keep in mind that a 1991-92 ground effects car will have ground effects attached to the forward lower section of the fender; if these ground effects are not installed, the fender may appear "too short".

Re: 92 Firebird Fender
The fenders are the same length. Otherwise the ground effects would all be different from 91. However saying that I can say that different fenders, even the same year, can fit differently. These cars are older and each has seen a different life so might be tweaked a little different. A friend of mine showed me that the ground effects can shrink with time. His Camaro rocker effects are 1/2 inch short. A front and rear bumper cover I have are both slightly, 1/8" minimum, too narrow for my car.
Why is he saying it is too short?

When we measured the one from the junkyard it was 97 inches and the on on the car is just a little over 56 inches. This was the on the drivers side. I guess he said it wouldn't bolt up.

Re: 92 Firebird Fender
I am assuming that was a typo and you meant 57 inches not 97. I will measure mine this evening but my measurements may differ because of different ways of measuring.

40 inch difference? Something's fishy here...

Re: 92 Firebird Fender
I measured both a 91 and a 87 fender and they were both the same.
They measured 62 7/16 from front top edge to the top edge point at the door.
I also measured 56 9/16 across at the molding or body line. Both measurements were done by wrapping the tape around the outside of the fender. These could be off by 1/16 easy with the way I measured but are close enough to find a noticable difference.
Sorry it took so long but I have been busy making a back patio.
