Thanks , I am looking to shed weight out of my car . My factory bumper cover is still nice but for racing I would prefer a fiberglass piece . I dont know if I am going to have to get a special mold made or if someone makes one already . I see alot of one piece front ends but that is not really what I would like . Thanks

as far as I know noone makes a fiberglass bumper cover unless you want to buy a knight rider kitt style one, I know some companies make those out of fiberglass, but I think they are quite pricey though

Yeah I did not think anyone does. I have vfn and glasstek local to me. I am hoping that if I supply a front bumper cover they might be willing to make a mold for me . I would also like a fiberglass stock hood, but none that i see accept the factory hood vents into them . My car needs to retain the factory appearance due to my own preference and just not alot of nice pieces seem to be available for my needs. If i want a 4" cowl or 4th gen WS6 hood not a problem but a nice stock light weight factory appearing hood is an issue.

I know you said why you want a glass front bumper cover, but I have to tell you I sure never want one. Glass does not hold up near as good a urathane and like to crack. I don't think is all that much lighter if any really.

As for a fiberglass front bumper why would you need one? It won't be any lighter than a stock one, and it will certainly be much less damage resistant. The stock one gives a little and moves so if something does it it, it will flex. Not seeing a real reason to have it.

I want it to be rigid because at 170 mph the front starts to deform and does not keep the aerodynamics . If the cover does not distort it will travel through the air cleaner and take less horsepower to mph. For a factory car yes fiberglass would not be ideal.

With the impact bar behind it, even when the cover compresses it hits the impact bar with before the cover deforms much.

Re: fiberglass front bumper cover 89 GTA ??
It distorts pretty good. I have pictures of it deforming on the top end of the track. I have enough power to overcome the drag if I was a top speed car, but with only 1320 ft a little flex is a significant drag on the car in a short distance. Also the angle of the nose on my car would be upward as the car is trying to lift the front up. Polly I am sure rides at a different angle , low and level creating less distortion of the front.
